- From Cosford I had postings to West Raynham, Trimingham,
Prestwick, Compton Basset, Locking, Odiham and Tangmere.
The last two with 50TSU going on exercise to El Adam (three
times),Greenham Common and a proper job in Zambia during
the oil air lift. Medical discharge in 1967 due to Acne(
really it's true) which was a bit of a shock as was civie
street. However after two years with Wayne Kerr and five
with Marconi I got over it. Spent the next 28 years working
in the Nuclear Power Industry until I took early retirement
in 2001. Thought I had better get out before I started to
glow in the dark. BUT early in 2004 I went back working
part time as a consultant. Been married 38 years to Wendy,
our son married a Japanese girl and they live in Japan and
our daughter has changed career and is a second year student
nurse and is still at home. |

- I left the RAF in 1984 and joined
Keep Britain Tidy whilst waiting to join the Civil Service
which I did in November 1985 working for the Dept of Health
& Social Security (as it was then) as a visiting officer
in the Stevenage area. My family remained in Doncaster.
In Nov 1987 I moved back to the Yorkshire area and became
a Benefit Fraud Investigator which I remained until I took
early retirement in March 2006. I now work part time as
a driver for Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospital Trust as
a driver of one of their vehicles transferring patients
between hospitals or home on discharge. My wife is now retired
from the teaching profession and we spend quite a lot of
time visiting our son, daughter-in-law and 3 grandchildren,
Jessica (7), Lexi (3) and Lucas (19 months) who live in
Westbury Leigh, Wiltshire. We did have a daughter Lisa but
she died suddenly in February 1992 of causes unknown. |
