- Left the RAF in 1977 having been
posted to Watton, Saxa Vord (3 times), Tangmere (50 TSU),
AFCENT (Maastricht & Baraque Michel), Henlow (HFP) and
Bruggen. Then I headed to Saudi working for Lockheed Aircraft
doubling up as an instructor/engineer on OJT (On Job Training)
for the Saudi Airforce. That lasted for 6 years. After 5
years back in the UK working for NEI/DAC and Central Telecom
(plus getting married and separated) my next port of call
was Oman in 1989 for the first of 3 trips working for Electroman
on TROPO and Navaids. Again some OJT was involved. I did
a total of 8 years there. During one of my spells back I
had a one year contract with BT working up poles and down
holes. Up until I finished work completely in 2009 I had
a few part time jobs. Now I just take things easy and take
yearly trips to Shetland to catch up with friends. |
